ACEO Art Cards 3-4-2010

Even though I love love love winter, I think spring is on my mind with the rate and enthusiasm I making bird (art cards) paintings these days. I have also sold a few of these over on ebay which has also been quite an incentive. But don’t worry, you can also get prints of them over at my redbubble residence too.

Speaking of spring, this morning when I was taking trip after trip after trip to the curb to leave presents for the recycling and garbage people, I heard several different birds along with a woodpecker in the tree next door and got a little excited about the possibility of green grass and flowers coming within the next two months or so.

(and I’m sure I’m not alone either)

So along with a new studio podcast I am currently assembling, here are some more things that I have been working on lately. I now feel I have properly reacquainted myself with the watercolor medium over this past month or so, although every piece is a quiet little fight of knowing when to be bold and knowing when to be patient and knowing when to stop before “mud” begins to be made and a piece has been officially declared ruined. And when that happens, it gets torn into a million little pieces and thrown away while swearing a lot. And it does happen. More times than I want to admit. If anyone tells you that watercolor is a peaceful sport, they are handing you a big line of BS. It’s a tricky balancing act. I’m not saying that the more abstract acrylic pieces I do are “easier” per se…oh wait I think I am. Anyway, enjoy.

I love the birds and I looooooove that when one is ruined it has to be thrown away while swearing a lot.

So what would you recommend doing with a mess of onesies and flour sack kitchen towels that didn’t turn out?

Carol said on Mar 7, 2010:

Bonfire. With lots of swearing.
