How did July get here already?

| Share

Well summer’s in full swing, the 4th of July is tomorrow, my garden is coming along nicely and I continue to procrastinate on my podcast not to mention blog posts, art updates and song updates. Sorry about that, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles in summer. I have a love hate relationship with summer (the sun, heat and humidity can be yucky for me) – but lately the weather has been fantastic and I’ve been taking full advantage of it. My favorite place lately is the riverfront, but I’ve also been pretty obsessive about my garden this year too.

I really can’t convey how much I need to be near water.

As you can see, someone else named LuLu needs to be near (and in it) as well.

Here’s where I’ve been hiding out most of the time lately. The wasps love it too. I ,however, do not like ‘them’.

Cocoa shells and raspberry bushes. It smells like some kind of torte out there when I water the grounds. In other words, it smells ridiculously delicious. I should have done this ages ago.

Also, see Mr. Travelocity in the back there? He’s has been kind enough to help out with bringing good vibes to my garden this year. Mr Travelocity was a birthday gift from my sister last year to bring good luck to my crops. So far he is doing an amazing job out there. Thanks Cindy!

LuLu likes to assist Mr. Travelocity.

However, she’s often easily distracted and Mr. Travelocity is left holding the bag.

On the art front, I have been working on more art cards. Birds and butterflies. That’s where my heart has been. I still want to do a fruits and veggies series, but right now things that fly is where I’m at. Probably when I start collecting my tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers is when the other series will show up. We’ll see.

Below are the cards I have been working on. Some have sold, some have not. For the ones that haven’t – I provided an ebay address for purchase. Otherwise as I have said before, you can always get a print of my artwork over at redbubble.com for fairly cheap.

I hope you are having a really good summer so far! Enjoy it while it lasts and have a great holiday weekend!

Gorgeous. Holy smoke your garden has changed since the last time I saw it. Whenever it was. So basically you have no side or back yard- it’s garden right? SO COOL. If the gnome wants a day off, consider a tanuki! http://tokiusa.com/bl/2009/01/16/tanuki-raccoon-dog/

I need to be near water too. Our new house is three blocks from the lake! Walk to it every morning before work- watch the water- am learning how it looks related to the weather/how my back feels. Also started an aquatic arthritis class. Nice to do something other than walk. Last class I almost broke down in tears- it’s mostly elderly and morbidly obese people and they can do all the exercises while I can’t. Got over it, I am where I am. Good thing is I can sleep decent the night after classes. grin

Mo! How did I miss this!?! The garden is at the end of the driveway. The backyard is directly behind the house so there is still plenty of backyard for Lu.

Three blocks away from the LAKE!? I am so envious. I’m glad to hear you are doing aqua therapy. Try not to get too downtrodden. You’re doing a great thing, love!

Can’t wait to see your new place!
xoxo

Hey, thanks sis!  I really appreciate it. Right now it really needs to be weeded (BADLY) but it’s too fricking hot for that sort of biz. I wish Mr. Travelocity or one of his woodland creatures would help out with that to be quite truthful.
