Sweet Find #1
I have decided to start a new segment entitled “sweet finds” (this one from March of 1948)…
My artwork involves vintage collage and I thought it might be interesting to share some of the “unique” finds I come across within the pages of some of these magazines, and blog about their, um, uh, “uniqueness”…
The other side of the story behind my new segment is that Mike is tired of me making him stick his nose inside 50 year old magazines and complains he is going to die of a mysterious mold spore disease if I continue. So you can safely look on without that worry.
I posted this treat today because I am completely mesmerized by the “simplicity” of this dishwasher and even more intrigued by the laws of gravity it seems to defy judging by these photos. I have this vision of this big basin filled from top to bottom with glassware, plates and heavy cookware all tossed in at one time. And of course at the bottom many many many shards of glass. It says there are racks to stack things, but from these pictures, it sure as h*ll doesn’t appear to be that way.
What a trip the 40’s and 50’s must have been. I hope someone perfects a time machine in my lifetime.
